16 Unique Gable Roof and Shed Roof Design Ideas

gable end roof design

It is the unfortunate result of connecting the geometry of a flat soffit on the side eave with the angle of the gable end. If you are not able to use an angled soffit, use one of the two flat-soffit details illustrated below. In the Victorian Era, homes that were elegant tended to look like Gingerbread houses. This was a style that involved “wafer” siding on gables, pastel colors like egg yolk yellow, and occasionally having a small gable over the porch with a cute design.

Install the roofing materials:

All you need to do is add some windows to your gable for maximum light in the attic. A Dutch gable is more popular with families as they need more space. This functional gable design also enhances the aesthetic appeal of the home. When compared to the adverse weather tolerance of hip roofs, gable roofs don’t perform as well. This is because of the flat surface of the roof, which is susceptible to wind damage. If there is an overhang on the gable, the powerful force of the wind can pull up the roof’s truss or lift the roof away from the walls of the home.

Cross Gable

The glass facade also provides stunning views of the surrounding landscape, seamlessly integrating the indoor and outdoor environments. Additionally, the two-story design offers ample space for both living and entertainment areas, allowing for versatile use of the interior. In some cases, the gable end can extend above the roof to create a parapet, which can have various shapes like crowstepped or catstepped. Some designs can be used in conjunction with one another, creating architectural synergy and functionality. We help homeowners make confident decisions through our reliable, up-to-date, and unbiased information and average project costs. A gable roof with metal accents is a contemporary twist on a classic design. Adding metal accents to the roof not only enhances its aesthetic appeal but also increases its durability. Whether you opt for symmetrical or asymmetrical placement, a multi-gable roof design can transform a house into a standout property that catches the eye of passersby. It is a modern and stylish choice for those seeking a distinctive roof design. The green roof consists of vegetation and planting materials that naturally insulate the building, reduce stormwater runoff, and improve air quality. Not only does it offer environmental benefits, but it also adds a unique aesthetic appeal to the overall design.

The steep slope of the gable roof allows for a higher ceiling in the loft, providing ample headroom and an open, airy atmosphere. This design is particularly favored for its versatility, as the loft space can be utilized as an additional bedroom, office, studio, or recreational area. Skylights not only enhance the overall aesthetic of a gable roof but also offer energy-efficient benefits by reducing the reliance on electrical lighting during daylight hours. Gable ends provide an aesthetically pleasing and symmetrical appearance to a building, adding a sense of height and prominence to its overall design. Additionally, the gable end can be utilized as a functional space, such as an attic or an additional room, depending on the structure’s design.

Combining gable and hip elements, the Dutch gable roof exhibits a unique charm where a small hip adorns the gable. This design offers a unique aesthetic, enhanced durability, and ventilation benefits to the structure. It is commonly found in residential and small commercial structures.

What Is Gable End: A Guide to Roof Designs

The half-hip gable roof features sloping sides that blend into a short vertical section, creating a distinctive and eye-catching look. This design is particularly popular for modern homes seeking a sleek and minimalist aesthetic. With their sleek and modern look, gable roofs with metal accents add a touch of sophistication to any home or commercial structure. Whether it’s a metal trim along the edges or a fully metal roof, incorporating metal accents can elevate the overall design of the gable roof. A cross-gable roof with a balcony is a contemporary design that combines the elegance of a gable roof with the functionality and charm of a balcony.

It contributes to the overall strength and durability of the gable roof. Plywood or oriented strand board (OSB) are commonly used for this purpose. Start by installing the necessary framing, including the ridge beam, rafters, and supporting walls. The assembly and precise installation of trusses play a pivotal role in forming the skeleton that will support the gable roof’s load. Select the appropriate roofing materials based on factors such as durability, budget, and aesthetic preferences.

Keep in mind that costs can vary based on your home size, choice of roofing materials, and local labor costs by roofing contractors in your area. The gable roof is one of the most popular roof designs due to its attractive symmetrical shape, efficiency at shedding water, and option for attic space. Building a gabled roof requires basic carpentry tools and skills, but as long as you make precise cuts and measurements, you’ll be able to make a roof for any simple structure.

Gable roofs can have different pitches, ranging from shallow to steep angles, depending on regional preferences and architectural styles. In architecture, a gable end refers to the triangular section of a wall that is situated at the end of a pitched roof. This distinctive feature spans from the eaves, or the lower edges of the roof, up to the peak. Gable ends often serve as a prominent architectural element, adding visual interest and defining the shape of the overall structure. This triangular shape can be seen in various architectural styles and is frequently adorned with decorative elements such as windows, fretwork, or intricate designs.

When two gable roofs meet, it is essential to create a watertight seal to prevent leaks and ensure the structural integrity of the roof. By carefully considering the design and ensuring proper installation techniques, homeowners can seamlessly join two gable roofs together. A gable roof is a popular architectural design that adds style and functionality to any building.

However, if the roof also contains hips and valleys, it should either be shingled or roofed with metal shingles or standing seam to help prevent roof leaks. The addition of a balcony provides an outdoor space that can be enjoyed for relaxation, entertaining guests, or simply taking in the surrounding views. A cross-gable roof with a balcony adds architectural interest to the home while also maximizing the use of outdoor space.

Truss members are joined using 16- to 20-gauge connector plates depending on the roof’s weight-bearing requirements. A gable roof is one type of roofing style used for residential homes. The easiest way to picture a gable roof is to imagine a simple rectangular home with triangular roof trusses extending upward from the walls on each of the home’s sides. The base of the triangle spans the walls, with the bottom chord (board) of the truss forming the interior ceiling of the home. The top of the triangle forms the peak, or roof ridge, and runs parallel along the length of the house.

If we talk about nations with vibrant tattoo traditions, the best word to describe the Japanese tattoo style is probably iconic. These tattoos seem to come from a parallel universe, inviting you to explore the centuries-old cultural heritage and meet the beasts of Japanese folklore. The abstract shapes used to create the design make it obvious that it’s a simple version of a more complicated design. Still-life tattoos are another big trend, and this is a great example of a simple but interesting still-life. The scribbles used for shading give the tattoo a hand-drawn feel, and the negative space gives it room to breathe without feeling too large or spread out. The most important thing about choosing a tattoo style is, of course, your own vision and artistic preference.

You can take a word or phrase and add an image to it as well, essentially mixing different styles of tattoos into one. Keep the ones you love close by tattooing their portraits onto your body. These permanent homages feel extra special to the people who wear them, and those who are honored via ink. Just make sure to find a tattoo artist who specializes in detailed portraiture to make sure you get an accurate image of your loved one tattooed on your skin.

All of the shapes used in geometric tattoos are geometric, and they frequently combine to create larger shapes or to create images. This tattoo design creates its composition by using black ink and lines of various weights. In addition to basic forms, popular themes for geometric tattoos are stars and galaxies, animals, and landscapes.

If your love of tattoos is more about the statement than the personalized design, try taking a normal or basic shape—like this line—and colorizing the lines. If you want a tattoo to give you the air of a wood nymph or forest goddess, why not go for a delicate branch on your clavicle? The thin lines and small size of the overall design make this feel dainty, but the blackwork still makes it stand out. Butterflies are a common tattoo at this point, but a great way to customize your creature is by attaching it to a specific design style.

The Interview: 'Quin House Cofounder Sandy Edgerley

Before the purchase was completed, she said she was planning to make an “eight figure” investment in restoration. Another one of what used to be the Algonquin Club’s preexisting features that heavily influenced Fulk’s creative direction? The late 19th- and early 20th-century classic American paintings that he inherited with the building.

An inside peek at a members-only private club in Boston

We’ve been very lucky that we can give back, and my husband and I are big believers in trying to make a difference. I’ve been very involved in nonprofits my whole career. I did consulting from the beginning, and then there were about 15 years when I wasn’t working, and I was on nonprofit boards and very, very involved as a volunteer. To me, that’s important because I want to understand what’s happening.

The Hideaway, which can be found behind a hidden door in another lounge dubbed the Living Room, offers a cocktail cart and member-selected vinyl collection. The ‘Quin officially opened Wednesday. While the outside of the building remains relatively unchanged, the post-renovation interior of the 56,000-square-foot structure is now a gleaming, highly Instagrammable, Architectural Digest-worthy stunner.

From the exterior, the ‘Quin House looks like one of many other imposing edifices that dot Boston’s patrician Commonwealth Avenue. Members (memberships are by invitation or referral only, with annual dues on a sliding scale) are greeted by lithe hostesses in chic dresses. To the right is Café Q, an all-day casual dining venue that is not only family-friendly but also laptop-friendly—unlike many private city clubs, members are encouraged to use The ‘Quin House as a workspace and business facility. There’s a state-of-the-art fitness center in the basement, alongside a louche nightclub named Scottie’s, and 8 ultra-luxurious hotel rooms on the upper floors. In between, there’s a stunning, grand salon-like living room and three more bars, including a cavernous sports pub that screams “Game Day” alongside more intimate spaces, including the Hideaway, a cozy lounge accessed by a secret door and styled as an homage to Frank Sinatra.

To that end, they started the Quin Impact Fund, which has already donated $500,000 throughout the pandemic to help 10 organizations such as Camp Harbor View, Greater Boston Food Bank, Asian Community Fund at the Boston Foundation, and the Boston Resiliency Fund. They also are hoping to create volunteer opportunities for members. Up to this point, most members have been recruited or sent invites to join. A nomination by an existing member is the established path to apply for membership.

The philanthropist, Harvard graduate, and longtime Bostonian—who's turned the quiet old world of private clubs on its head—talks real estate, high-end style, and Julian Schnabel. The 'Quin House is a place for varied interesting and interested individuals to meet, it’s a place where chance encounters can lead to meaningful connections – and we design our rooms to encourage those connections. Mingle in a chic and sophisticated atmosphere; furnished with an eye towards crafting welcoming spaces where Boston’s best and brightest minds, bon vivants, leaders and risings stars alike will naturally cross paths with one another – and make lifelong connections. But the Algonquin, the place the Globe claimed was “undoubtedly one of the finest clubhouses in America” in 1888, lost its luster as time passed. It took 98 years until the club allowed women to join, and few rushed to become members at the time. As the cachet of the club diminished, the grand building that houses it, designed by McKim, Mead, and White, the same architects behind the Boston Public Library, had also fallen into decline.

A few to note include the signature space, Bondo, which serves modern Japanese cuisine with a New England twist; Café Q offers European all-day dining; The Pub is a classic-American gastropub; and the Terrace is a two-story indoor-outdoor space. There are several other bars and lounges for members to enjoy as well. Unlike Boston’s social clubs of the past, the ‘Quin is looking to shake the old fashioned & often exclusionary atmosphere and instead bring in people from all backgrounds and interests. There is also a philanthropic arm, The ‘Quin Impact Fund, which will support local groups.

Famed designer, Ken Fulk, who also happened to have designed another prolific new space, Contessa at the nearby Newbury, led the design efforts for the ‘Quin. Indicative details such as the fireplaces, marble columns, hand-carved furniture pieces and chandeliers, have been meticulously restored to give the new space the same gravitas as the original. Fulk’s vision of the ‘Quin was brought to life through elements of Art Deco, Arts & Crafts and Midcentury Modernism styles, but don’t worry there is still plenty of grandeur. There are lounges scattered throughout the club as well, many of which offer beverages and small bites. At the ultra-exclusive Founders Room, access is only granted to founding members of the Algonquin Club.

We’ll stop with the design-related compliments here before this story turns into a repeat of the 1888 Boston Daily Globe-Algonquin Club lovefest. The club, she said, is not just about wine tastings, dinners, dancing, erudite talks, and cocktails, although all of those activities will occur. She’s optimistic that philanthropic relationships will be formed.

After its London location became wildly popular in the 1990s, founder Nick Jones began expanding and now operates more than 27 social clubs worldwide, with seven more locations slated to open over the next two years. It remains the only "socially elite" old-guard Boston club with a purpose-built clubhouse.[6] The Harvard Club, for example, built its Commonwealth Avenue clubhouse in 1912–1913. Formerly known as The Algonquin Club, the storied building at 217 Commonwealth Ave. was purchased two years ago by business power couple Sandy and Paul Edgerley, and given a top-to-bottom makeover by interior designer Ken Fulk, who recently designed Contessa on Newbury Street. The club’s six floors encompass design elements ranging from Art Deco to Midcentury Modernism, and show off an extensive art collection, a fitness and wellness center, eight guest rooms, and plenty of space for wine tastings, exclusive screenings, business meetings, and performances. Menus are created by Jean-Paul Lourdes, an internationally acclaimed chef who has helmed kitchens in France, London, Japan, and New York.

There are a total of six chefs for the club’s four restaurants. Of the eight bars, one is cheekily named the Dive Bar. It’s named as such because the art depicts people diving. With the exception of the grand staircase and the reading room, Sandra Edgerley said, the building has been “reimagined rather than remodeled.” The reimagining, courtesy of celebrity designer and private club owner Ken Fulk, is nothing short of wondrous. Think of a high-end hotel with a museum-worthy art collection, four restaurants, eight bars, a 2,200-pound chandelier adorned with 2,500 crystals, a speakeasy, a secret room for listening to records, and a gym.

But, let’s not forget what the ‘Quin is about, and it’s that posh building on Commonwealth Ave. where elbows will be rubbed between leaders, innovators, creators, and rising stars. In the beautiful space with private meeting rooms, bars, a very Parisian atrium, and an event space where a member could have a small wedding. The idea is that it’s an all-day hangout. It’s a third space to fill the gap between the office and home, which also happens to have a cocktail cart that will come to your table in the reading room, which has gold-leaf wallpaper.

Fulk turned to curator Kate Chertavian to find incredible works and ultimately build a collection that would include everyone from Andy Warhol to Picasso, Rodin, and Kehinde Wiley. Amount, in dollars, the ’Quin’s philanthropic arm, the ’Quin Impact Fund, has given so far to more than 47 organizations. Number of artworks in the ’Quin’s permanent collection, which includes pieces by Picasso and Andy Warhol. Number of martinis poured every month at the club.

Well, the ’Quin House and hospitality were it for me. That was kind of the dream that I wanted to try. I don’t know what would be interesting to do next. Maybe there’s a next chapter for me. Ultimately, it comes from our last name.

She and her husband are also adamant that the club’s membership will be a diverse mix of ages, genders, races, and incomes. She said a quarter of the club’s members will be under 35. One of my favorite cities is Vienna because my mom was from there, and when I was growing up, I used to visit my grandparents there, so when I go back, it always feels a little bit like home.

How the Elite Will Eat and Drink in Boston's Exclusive New Social Club

The Boston power couple, who purchased the Algonquin Club building more than two years ago, have not only given the historic structure a multimillion-dollar makeover, they’re also attempting to completely upend the model of a private social club in Boston. Beginning with changing the name to the ‘Quin House, the Edgerleys are looking to create a new kind of social club where a coterie of civic leaders, heads of business, artists, presidents of nonprofits, and an inevitable social climber or two can gather. “For me, it’s more about spaces that have evolved. In other words, they don’t seem to feel like they just suddenly appeared; they look as if they’ve subtly adapted to a more contemporary landscape without losing its historical roots,” Fulk notes. The idea of a social club that requires an initiation fee, dues, and an approval process may sound arduous and unappealing to some, but across the country, private social clubs are having a moment. Perhaps the best known of this new breed is Soho House.

For Sale: A Homey Painted Lady Inn and Burger Bar on Cape Cod

When the reimagined and redesigned Algonquin Club opened in 2021, the six-story mansion generated instant buzz for its gorgeously over-the-top design, from a button to summon champagne in the first-floor “speakeasy” to a Sinatra bust that you press to reveal a secret door. But its social capital is more than just aesthetics. The space has quickly replaced the old Bristol Lounge at the Four Seasons as the place for a power-rendezvous, except now the CEOs are rubbing elbows with social justice activists, and the membership is legitimately diverse. The other food and drink locales are the Hideaway, a small cocktail-equipped space behind a secret door; the self-explanatory Coffee Bar; and ultra-exclusive Founders Room, reserved for, well, founding members only. There are also nine (yes, nine) bars and lounges inside the ‘Quin. Among the truly standout spaces are the rooftop Sky Deck, where phone calls, a.k.a. loud distractions from lovely sunsets, are banned after 6 p.m.

Dining Options at the ‘Quin

Under the new ownership of Boston power brokers Sandy and Paul Edgerley, though, the palatial six-floor space—which holds about a dozen distinct restaurants, bars, and lounges for wining and dining—has been newly reimagined as the ‘Quin. It’s minted as an “aesthetically stunning playground” that is “envisioned to convene a varied cross-generational group of the regions’ interesting and interested leaders, creators, innovators and rising stars for mingling and cross-pollination,” per an opening release. When it comes to dining, the options are equally as broad.

There’s a couple of Wild Cards around here too. It takes all kinds to make up a spirited community and one with an impact. It also, not-so-coincidentally, makes for spicier dinner conversation. And above all, it’s a place to disconnect, reconnect, and reinvent your social life.

Private Club

Paul Edgerley, formerly a managing director at Bain Capital, is also part of a group of private partners that owns the Celtics. Sandra Edgerley is owner of the luxury real estate company Hexagon Properties. Both have spent years working on the boards of Boston nonprofits. They often say that even though they’re not from Boston, they feel like the city is their adopted home where they raise their four children. The Algonquin Club of Boston, presently known as The 'Quin House,[1] is a private social club in Boston, Massachusetts, founded in 1886.

You didn’t really have to make a plan. It was social activity without having to work too hard, and I hope the ’Quin is like that. Otherwise, as a guest of a member (or attendee to a private event inside), you can always ride some coattails through the front door and into one of four restaurants helmed by culinary director Jean-Paul Lourdes, former chef at the Soho House in Malibu and at Joel Robuchon in Bangkok.

At Bondo, for instance, diners sink into sumptuous leather banquettes for modern Japanese-meets-New England cuisine, plus access to a sushi and raw bar, as well as a 34-seat wine vault with over 1,100 best-of-class bottles for uncorking. The Pub, meanwhile, is where to find American gastropub fare, draft beers, a media wall live-streaming every game imaginable, and tabletop activities like billiards, foosball, and shuffleboard for playing your own. Then there’s the cozy Café Q and the garden patio-inspired Terrace, which both offer European-style all-day dining for light bites, baked goods, and bevvies. It’s where the history and glamour of Old Boston mingle with the innovation and vibrance of New Boston. Where cherished traditions mix with the zeitgeist of the day. Where diverse life experiences mingle and motivate.

It’s come as you are because if you’re, let’s say, a tech entrepreneur in your twenties, you’re probably working in something super-casual. I never wanted that to be a barrier or to feel like you had to put on a jacket and tie. Well, when you look at lists of the super wealthy, I don’t think a lot of those fortunes are from real estate. It seems like technology and invention, creativity and innovation, are probably more common sources.

At the ‘Quin, Lourdes has designed very different experiences. After all, that’s the only way to get inside the ‘Quin House, a private club that opens to members and their guests this weekend in the Back Bay. One way the founders hope to give back is through The ‘Quin Impact Fund, a philanthropic arm aiming to support local and national organizations making positive contributions to the Boston community, focusing on arts and culture, equity, youth and education, and other areas. Whether you’re here to work or to play, you’ll dine, drink, and mingle in elegant comfort. Fulk suggests, “The extremely curated art program is an integral part of this big building.” And it’s quite clear upon walking through the stately entrance, where guests are greeted with Rodin’s Penseur, Petit Modèle. That said, the 250-plus-piece art collection is only a piece—albeit a significant piece—of the complex puzzle that connects the old with the new.

Although they don’t like to talk numbers — when asked if she’d like to discuss the cost of the renovation, Sandra Edgerley responded with a firm “no” — there are numbers on the public record. Hexagon Properties bought the Algonquin Club at the end of 2018 for $17.5 million. (At the time the Globe was reporting a purchase price of $25 million.) Hexagon Properties secured a mortgage for just over $30 million the same year for the ‘Quin.

I’ve had the opportunity to stay at the Sacher hotel, right in the center of the city. It’s just this Old World, beautiful hotel. My mother was an artist, so I think I’ve always had an artistic appreciation. Maybe it comes from the fact that I’m an art lover? I can’t draw well or anything like that. But I like to express myself through what I wear, and I do feel like that’s a creative statement.

Annual membership dues begin at $500 a year for those in the nonprofit world. For most everyone else, the annual fees are akin to those of a high-end gym. For younger members, that’s $2,000 a year. As you get older, the annual membership dues are higher, with the idea that the mature, more established club members are essentially subsidizing those in the early stages of their careers. There are so many great, innovative ideas and solutions that develop here and then go national. It’s like the spirit of innovation lives in the nonprofit sector as much as it does in the tech or life sciences, or other sectors in Boston.

It also provides a reduced membership price for select applicants involved in the arts, civic work or with nonprofit organizations. A private social club unlike any other that will create a community of impact. As you have likely guessed, quality, excellence, and beauty do not come cheap. Before we get to the hard numbers, here’s some background on the ‘Quin’s founders.

We have a reputation for being stodgy and not very chic, but the reality is different than that, and it’s just getting more so. I think people, in general, like to dress up and put on something cool. At the ’Quin, we don’t have a dress code.

Monica Lewinsky Bashes White House Using Taylor Swift Lyric

house of memories lyrics

At the least, though, he wants to know that she'll "[r]emember / [him] in the same way / As I remember you." He misses her and feels sad that they parted--he hopes it was meaningful and emotional enough to mean something to her too. In Verse 1, Urie sings, "If you're a lover, you should know / The lonely moments just get lonelier / The longer you're in love / Than if you were alone." When you spend a lot of time loving someone, you want to be with them even more and begin to miss them more deeply than you would feel lonely if you were still single. Your happiness and life get more dependent on that other person, Urie is saying. Several social media users have been utilizing the song lyric "You wouldn't last an hour in the asylum where they raised me," from "Who's Afraid of Little Old Me?" on Swift's album The Tortured Poets Department. They humorously pair it with photos of places evocative of childhood memories or significant moments from their past, sometimes even times of trauma.

Popular Panic! At the Disco Lyrics

Whatever the case, he wants to at least know that she never forgot him, no matter where she ends up. "House of Memories" is about a past relationship that's now over. The relationship was "built / On memories." It was strong and beautiful, but something happened, and now it's over. Urie doesn't give us the details of the breaking up; he focuses on how hard life is now that his once lover is gone. House of Memories is a standout track on Panic at the Disco’s fifth studio album, “Death of a Bachelor.” It aligns with the album’s theme of exploring life, love, and the wild experiences of being young. Coinciding perfectly with the title of the album, the song’s dispirited lyrics talk about the realization of how finally being wedded to the one you love, can almost seem worse than being alone.

About the writer

house of memories lyrics

One notable live rendition of the song was during their “Death of a Bachelor Tour” in 2017.

Know any other songs by Panic at the Disco? Don't keep it to yourself!

Lewinsky, a 22-year-old intern at the White House at the time, became involved in a sexual relationship with then-President Bill Clinton, which subsequently triggered impeachment proceedings against him in 1998. Following the affair, she faced vilification and withdrew from public life for several years. At the Disco is a sad song--one of the sadder ones on the album, and the "operatic and evil [musical] stuff" gives a sinister background that looms over melancholic and wistful lyrics. It's interesting to see Urie switch gears here so easily, and based on this song, it was something he needed to say, and I'm glad he did.

It's time to begin explaining the last three songs from Death of a Bachelor by Panic! The album's been taking some interesting turns and been maintaining a steady theme of looking back at happier, wilder days while keeping up a steady appreciation for how good the future can be with a little effort and determination to be the best. "House of Memories" continues this theme using intense, choral-esque music (a sound Urie calls "operatic and evil stuff" in the Twitter video below) backing Brendon Urie's waving, strong voice. He's the man caught in a storm, but among all of the wind and waves, he and his voice are standing strong, ready for whatever comes next. Because she's building a house in this chorus, I feel/think that she'll have accomplished her fantasies and dreams at this point, but that's just my perspective.

As for Lewinsky's part, she posted the line from the song on X (formerly known as Twitter), alongside a photo of the White House, referencing the infamous Clinton-Lewinsky scandal from the '90s. Monica Lewinsky has hopped on the meme bandwagon sparked by a Taylor Swift lyric, featuring a photo of the White House and labeling it as an "asylum." While House of Memories hasn’t been prominently featured in other media, it has been embraced by fans who connect with its relatable lyrics and powerful message. House of Memories resonates with listeners by tapping into universal emotions and experiences related to love, heartbreak, and the nostalgia that comes with reminiscing about past relationships. The main message of House of Memories revolves around the idea of cherishing the memories of past relationships, despite the pain and heartache they may bring.

It’s about the realization of how finally being wedded to the one you love can almost seem worse than being alone. Brendon comes to grips with the fact that the fantasies he once dreamed of can fall short of what is a reality when it comes to finally settling down or marrying. Reflecting on her experience over a decade later, "Not a day goes by that I am not reminded of my mistake, and I regret that mistake deeply," Lewinsky shared in a 2015 TED Talk. "In 1998, after having been swept up in an improbable romance, I was then swept up into the eye of a political, legal and media maelstrom like we had never seen before."

Brendon comes to grips with the fact that the fantasies he once dreamed of, can fall short of what is a reality when it comes to finally settling down or marrying. The Making Memories Festival is a multicultural music and food festival benefiting Alzheimer's Los Angeles. The event showcases performances by local bands and features food from LA's favorite food trucks. Informational booths and experiences focusing on brain health and other healthy lifestyle resources are also part of the festivities. Verse 2 is far shorter than Verse 1, and it's just as well for Panic! At the Disco's sole member Brendon Urie since this seems to be such a painful subject for him.
